I want to be Selfish!!!

With the holidays just around the corner, why it is I want everything in the world!!! I want to buy so many things for myself right now! I could spend my entire holiday budget on gifts for myself and give everyone else Christmas cards, but what kind of daughter, sister, auntie would I be??? *Sigh* I could show up back home on my long awaited trip home giftless, and ignore the "devasted" looks on my sibling's faces, but I would feel horrible and make me the Grinch!! *Sigh* I guess I better make my Gift list NOW before heading to the mall on my lunch break!!! I on the other hand will settle for my haircut/highlights which is much needed!! My hair is now at the length where I can just tie it back and call it good, as it is in my pics from T-day. It takes less than 2 mins to do in the morning which means more time to sleep! But, I know if I take the time to get ready in the morning, something good is bound to come of it!!! At least that's what I tell myself when I drag my ass out of bed 45-mins earlier!!!

I went to the gym last night and it was packed!! Just about every single treadmill, not only that, but just about every single cardio machine was in use!!! I have never seen the gym that packed, since I've joined, granted that was only back in Sept when I moved out here, but still!! I don't know if these people have been members all along and came yesterday because they were still working off their turkey day or if these were all new members getting a jump start on their New Year's resolutions!! Whatever it is, I'm scared to see what the gym will look like in January!! Don't get me wrong, I saw the gym last January, but that was in Las Cruces, NM not a bigger city like San Antonio, TX!! Las Cruces is about, I'm not even going to guess how much smaller LC is to SA, I'll just have to wait and see!!

Turkey hangover....

Well it's the Saturday after Thanksgiving and I must say it was quite the success. First off, Rudy and I were celebrating our first Thanksgiving together, if that's not enough, we were also cooking our first Turkey and being in lovely San Antonio, where the weather reached over 80 degrees on T-day we decided we would grill the turkey. So after calling my Dad for his grilled turkey recipe we procedded to cook the bird and to both of our surprise it came out great!!

In addition to the turkey, we also made a low-carb version of cheesecake using a recipe we found on the internet, using Splenda and a crust that is made with almonds, pecans, and walnuts. It came out great!!! It tasted just like something we got from The Cheesecake Factory, okay I may be overexagerating, but it was really good!! After we stuffed ourselves and cleaned up afterwards we went to watch "Jarhead" which was a pretty good movie, had some "moments" but overall was an OK movie. On Friday, we avoided the shopping frenzy and made our way to the gym, which was much needed!!! We were also able to fit in a movie, "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" which Rudy suggested, I thought it was funny. AFter the movie we went out had a few drinks and came home with more booze and watched, more episodes of "Lost Season 1" I ended up passing out after 3 episodes!! So all in all it was a pretty decent weekend! I once again messed up my diet today by eating at the Olive Garden, but hey I did sub wheat linguine for regular pasta AND I did run this evening again, so I'm not feeling too bad about it, and hey tomorrow is a new week to start!

Back to reality

My weekend was a little off course, but it did the trick!

I flew into El Paso on Friday afternoon, went and visited my sister who was still in the hospital for the entire afternoon. I hadn't eaten all day so my other sister (Mich) and I left to eat at Johnny Carino's, ignored the look on the waitress' face when she asked if it would just be the two of us having the pitcher of Bellinis' and agreed to have water with it! We went back to the hospital and hung out until they kicked us out because visiting hours were over. With nothing else to do we went, bought drinks, put on our "hooch" wear and headed out to the bar! I had a great time! I ran into people I used to know, as well as people I used to "know". Mich of course almost had to throw down because of mistaken identity.....okay here's the story, she has a friend "Toni" who people say looks exactly like her (I don't agree but then again she is my sister, but I digress) anyway, "Toni" is seeing a guy who is allegedly still married, but "in the process" of getting a divorce, but it's already been a whole year! ANyway his ex, er, I mean his current wife, whatever you want to call it, is an ex college bball player so of course she's pretty tall and pretty bad looking, I call her the amazon woman with a bad egyptian costume, you get the visual? Anyway she stopped right in front of us and was pointing my sister Mich out to her friend who was not being discreet at ALL, so my sister said, "Hi, I'm Michelle, since I know you guys are talking about me" and the girl proceeded to say "Oh your not Toni" anyway there were words and long looks exchanged and we had to take a drink after that and continued on with our night! Of course we found an after party, hung out there until the guys got weird on us, headed home and passed the fuck out!

The next morning I dragged my ass up and went to visit my sister, while Mich was still passed out, spent the entire day at the hospital once again until they kicked us out. With all our time at the hospital we decided we needed to cancel our party since our other sister was still sick. So we just hung out at the house. Sunday came too fast, I wanted to stay another week, but I boarded my plane and here I am back at work!

This week has been hard for me to do any work! It's like since there's a holiday just around the corner I just want to do nothing, even though I have a ton of work that needs to get done, but here I am blogging away! Is anyone else having this problem this week?

I can't sit still

Tomorrow is Friday!! Not only is it the weekend, it's also time for my trip back to NM. Yeah I know who gets excited about going to New Mexico? But I get to hang out with my favorite sister who just happens to be celebrating her birthday tomorrow and my other sister who just happens to still be in town on a freak accident, okay sickness. My flight is in the afternoon and I get to El Paso around 2pm. I'm finding it hard to work today, but I have a lot I still need to get done before heading out tomorrow. I still need to find my "hoe" gear for the party on Saturday, but that's another story.

I'm so tired today at work, I just bought the first season of "Lost" on DVD and have been addicted to that show ever since! I get home from the gym around 8ish and after watching just one episode they suck you into watching another one, and then another one. I hate it, but I can't stop doing it at the same time. I haven't seen any of Season 2, because a friend just recently recommended it, so it looks like I'll have to wait to view Season 2 when it comes out of DVD unless I decide to break the law and illegally download it. bwhahahahaha

It's finally cold!!!!!!!!!

I've had the weirdest "fall" ever. I grew up in Northern New Mexico, literally 10 minutes from the Colorado border so I know what snow is and what cold means. I lived there until I moved away to college, granted Southern New Mexico, but it still got cold at night. Since I've moved here to San Antonio, it does not even feel like it's November, and that Thanksgiving is just NEXT WEEK!! Last week I was wearing shorts and tank tops!! Something you never see in NM in mid November! This morning that all changed it was freezing on my way to work, I actually had to turn on my heater! I'm hoping the weather stays like this so it registers with me that it's November and I have to start my Christmas shopping!! Tonight San Antonio is on "freeze warning" which means tomorrow morning there will be 50% more accidents since I'm guess these Texans will flip out and suddenly not remember how to drive since it's a "freeze warning" morning, not that they know how to drive anyway!

Today is Wednesday, which means it's only a couple more days until I'm heading back to Las Cruces, NM to hang out with my favorite sister and another sister who just happens to be there as well!! I'm going to take my trusty new camera with me and take some pictures of the before mentioned party!!

Pictures to come...

Well my weekend went great, I know it's a Tuesday, not a Monday, but I was too busy at work yesterday to post. Like I mentioned earlier, we had tickets to see Dave Chappelle on Saturday and that was a GREAT show, I even indulged in the moment and had henney and diet coke (it was GOOD and brought back a lot of memories!!) after the show we procedded to the riverwalk to have a few drinks which, with the deals we were getting, turned into a lot more than I thought we'd have. After leaving downtown we went to a few other places, played a round of pool, and danced a few songs at some other place. The last place we went was GHETTO, here's how ghettto it was, guys already with a neck full of hickies were trying to pick up new women and these woman were taking the bait! *sigh*

Sunday was also another great day, I woke up hangover free, Yea! And got my Christmas gift a bit early, I got a digital camera, so all day Sunday we looked around and finally bought one that I've yet to stop using! I take that thing everywhere with me!! It's great and now my blog will have pictures on it!!

Finally Friday!!!!

It's finally Friday!! It's also Veterans Day, so Happy Veteran's Day!! The company I decided to work for exchanged today's holiday in place of the day after Thanksgiving, so alas here I sit at work! Today I'm really hating the fact that the days are switched but I know I would hate to come in on the Friday after Turkey day so that's helping me make it through the day.

I'm going to see Dave Chappelle on Saturday, I know it's going to be a great show, I've seen his past two as mentioned previously, but that's just how excited I am. I'm also back into my routine of hitting the gym! Yay! My introductory trainer mentioned that he hadn't seen me forever, but I had really been going to a different site, but now it's just easier to go after work. So that was my excuse, although it really wasn't an excuse.

My first deadline.....

As many of you may know I just started this job, well I start back in September, but I still feel like the new girl on the block. I was recently given my first big project to work on which I have been working on diligently, but there have been a few episodes of web surfing at the same time. Anyway I told my boss today that I would be done with this project, if not today, then by tomorrow morning, knowing I'd have to be kicking ass to get it done! *Sigh* I guess I'm still in the position where I feel the need to make an "impression" Anyway so I'm going to be very busy, oh well maybe the time will pass quicker!

I can't wait for the weekend, we have tickets to see Dave Chapelle, "Rick James Bitch!" So that's what I'll be doing this weekend, I've only seen a few, actually a couple other comedy acts live and they John Leguizamo and George Lopez. I really didn't understand George Lopez because it was mostly geered towards Hispanics, which I'm not, and in Spanish (which I don't speak) but it was still a fun night! My sister is a huge Dave Chappelle fan, well not just that she is a HUGE stand up comedy-type of thing person, so of course she has most of his DVD's which in turn I've seen on days we, okay I was bored and had nothing else to do besides buy something to drink and watch comedy all day, which really happened more than it should of, but hey it was fun!

Why am I still writing when I have the deadline looming over my head???

Finally not hungover

If y'all read yesterday's blog you know I had WAY too much to drink on Saturday night and was in "recovery" mode all day on Sunday. You would've thought that I would have felt better yesterday, but combine that with the fact that it was Monday and there was no end in sight!

I dragged myself to work and even though I was technically "AT" work I wasn't at work. I could not function at all, I couldn't think, nothing! Nothing made sense to me at all. I even opted out of the gym even though I knew I needed to go due to all that was consumed over the weekend, but I didn't care at all! Oh well, today I've already got more work done than I did all day yesterday! woo-hoo!

I don't know what's happened to me, I used to be able to go out have a great time and never wake up with a hangover, but then I never mixed so many different liquors in one night. Most of the time, I strictly drank "Jack and Diet" but the guys I was out with, would roll their eyes when I requested that, so I was stuck drinking what they drank, so I'm blaming them for my hangover. On another note, but kinda the same not, I was also the queen of cute shoes (ie hooker shoes) but even though I wear high heels to work everyday or boots I can't wear my hooker shoes anymore without my feet killing me.......this doesn't make sense to me since my "work shoes" are high heeled as well....oh well....

It's Monday already?

Hey all, sorry I've been really busy and too tired to post lately. Well my weekend went well and absolutely did nothing for my diet! On Friday night I went out to dinner at PF Changs. Saturday I went up to Austin the site of my former glory! I must say that I consumed way too much alcohol and am still paying for it! It started out that I was going to have a low-key night and not consume that much liquor but that all went out the window. Before dinner I had a few margaritas that were homemade, at dinner I had not one but two Michelob Ultras after dinner we proceeded to "6th Street" for some downtown fun....

At Cheers shot bar I had a flaming DP, then a vodka/redbull, jager shot (it was suppose to be a jager bomb, but somebody ordered wrong) and all I'll say is YUCK! next was crown and sprite, then it was "3 wise men" and then a "mind eraser" somewhere in there was a long island and a few other drinks that I don't remember! See what happens when you go out with 5 guys!

On Sunday I definately was paying the price for mixing all that crap! I won't be drinking for at least a couple of weeks now! That was just a little too much! I'm just glad it's Monday and it's all over with and no one had a camera!

Not cracked up to what I thought

Well I had a pretty uneventful Halloween. I went to the gym right after work, went home, did some laundry and cooked dinner. How must I ask did my life get so boring!! I think a lot of it has to do with the relocation. I moved out here to San Antonio, not knowing anyone, the closest friend I have is stationed at Ft. Hood and we are suppose to hang out sometime! Oh yeah, I have a few scattered in Austin as well.

If I were still partying it up in New Mexico (yes there are places to party there!) I would have called into work yesterday due the the fact that I would have either been still drunk or my headache would have hurt down to my knees!!! But what can I say, I work for a better company, actually do work and get paid more, but is all that really worth it? I'm happy to say though that I've bought a plane ticket back to Las Cruces (where I went to college and where my fav sister lives) to celebrate her b-day! I'm so looking forward to that weekend I can't even tell you!!
