Hump Day

I just want to restate how much I love my new running shoes! They are just great!! Last night I ran 8 miles! It was great!!! Other than that, there is not a whole lot going on in the lovely state of San Antonio, except I just realized today that I haven't seen the sun since Thursday!! We've had nothing but cloudy, dreary days since then. It's all suppose to clear up today only to come back tomorrow, but I'm not complaining, I love this type of weather, all the more reasons for me to move to Seattle! Yeah right, I'm just about to pay enough money to stay in TX for some time now, so I guess I'll have to settle for a bit! :)

The Joys Of Moving to Texas...

I didn't realize how much crap you have to do when you move to a different state. Yeah okay, so technically I did move to Texas back in September of 2005, but my New Mexico driver's license doesn't expire until sometime in April 2006, so I figured I had until then to get my car registered, get a new driver's license, etc. Anyway I'm starting to get the ball in motion to get all of this stuff done and it's looking like I'm going to have to take a whole day off from work to get this all done.

First of all, in Texas your car needs to pass an "inspection" (something that's not done in NM) so I have to go to a state approved place and pay to get my car inspected, but before that I have to get a side mirror on my car replaced, because I um sort of hit something and now my mirror has fallen off! Yeah I know my bad, but anyway I'm getting my mirror replaced today after work. Okay, after my car gets inspected I have to take all my paperwork to the DPS office and get my car registered in TX, but in order to do that I have to get car insurance in Texas, I do currently have car insurance, but it's "State of New Mexico" insurance, even though I have a company that's nationwide providing me insurance I have to get completely new insurance here in TX and the rates are higher here in TX, I mean significantly higher! So there goes even more money!!! So after I show proof of insurance I can finally pay even more money to get a TX title and TX plates for my beloved car, once all that's done, yes there is more, I can go to another office and get a TX driver's license! It takes all that to become an official Texan!! No wonder there is no state tax here in Texas, they take all your money when you first move into the state! Oh well, when it's all said and done I can officially say "Don't mess with Texas!" :)

As far as the mirror goes, I almost shelled out even more money than needed. Here's the story. I took my car to a Paint and Body store that had several locations around town, so yeah it was a chain and they quoted me almost $200 to fix that thing, I politely declined because it is just a mirror it can't be that hard to replace, so after calling around to smaller, independent shops, I found a place that's going to fix that thing for only $50!! Yeah it may be in the ghetto, but I'm sure they'll get the job done! Just in case, I'm taking cash, you never know it may be a "cash only" type of place! So that's where I'll be heading after work.......

On a totally different note, I'm loving my new shoes, I think I made the right choice this time around. I ran in them last night and got in 7 miles pain free! They are great!

New Shoes part deux

Yay they allowed me to exchange my shoes!!! Your looking at the new pair I had to pay more for, but oh well let's hope they feel better!

New Shoes

I finally bought new running shoes this past weekend and have tried running in them three times now and let me just say they were so not worth the money I paid for them!! I am going to take them back today and hopefully I'll be able to return them. Since wearing those shoes, I have received 3 blisters as a thank you for buying them! They are painful to run in. I never had problems breaking in new running shoes before so I'm guessing that's it just the shoe and it's not fitting me properly so off to Finish Line during my lunch break to hopefully end this pain!

In other news, my Vday went okay, I got roses and a card from the boyfriend, my casanova didn't make any reservations anywhere so the waiting lists were at least 2.5 hours where we went so we ended up at Pizza Hut! LOL Now that's one for the books! But all in all it was nice, in the beginning I just wanted to order dinner in because I already knew the restaurants were going to be packed and at home we wouldn't have to deal with it all, but the BF insisted we go out, makes me wonder why he didn't have reservations, but oh well it is just a commercialized day.

Your Candy Heart Says "My Way"
You love to be in love, as long as it means being showered with attention. And no need for you to give anything in return - being with you is gift enough.
Your ideal Valentine's Day date: a first class trip to Hawaii
Your flirting style: witty and showy
What turns you off: having to "chase" someone
Why you're hot: you're more confident (and arrogant) than a rock star!

The Gym Gets Worse and Worse.....

Gym rant ahead....

Okay people I go to the gym on average 5 times a week and most of the time it's right after work, 5ish Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. This is usually the peak time of the gym with all the 8 to 5'ers making it to the gym at this time. I'm an avid runner so my 'cardio' is usually the treadmill which my gym happens to have more than enough of . Anyway that's not the point of my post, the point of my post are the people at the gym. I run for about an hour on the treadmill so I'm what you could label a serious runner and I'm not talking a 10 minute mile I average about 7 miles an hour, average that is. What bothers me is the haters out there. I admit I used to be pretty overweight but I woke up and did something about it, what bothers me are the women, not all of them, but the ones who go to the gym, but don't go to the gym to workout. There is a group of women who need to get serious about their workout, to put it nicely. They get on the treadmill, talk about other people to one another, talk on their cell phone, rudely and loudly, just painfully disruptive they are the type that put make up on before heading out of the locker room! I wouldn't care less about them but they ridicule people at the gym who are trying to better themselves, I know because I see them on a regular basis and they are seriously making an effort, these other girls I see only once or twice a week. What finally irked me is I heard them gossiping about me and how I looked, it's like yeah let's see your asses run 7 miles and see what you look like afterwards! And let's just say running would do them good! I mean I'm not talking about all overweight women because I seriously do see some there who are serious and I'm rooting for them to succeed!

I don't understand people like this. They are your average overweight women who think they are the shit. They dress like they are a size 4, when really they're more likely to only be able to shop at Lane Byrant and they think every single guy is intersted in them. I mean is their self esteem so inflated that they actually believe this??? *Sigh* It's becoming the norm out here in San Antonio, someone please explain it to me!

Monday, Monday.....

Go Steelers!!!!

I just want to say how happy I am that the Steelers won the Super Bowl. I ended up having a pretty good weekend. I went to the San Antonio Rodeo, no I'm not a cowgirl, and I technically didn't go to the rodeo itself, just the rodeo grounds. It took us about 5-6 hours just to look at everything and we spent a lot of money! Oh well it was fun and the first rodeo I've been to in years, I think the last time I went to one I was 8 years old! Along with the rodeo came the bad eating. I ate way too much on Saturday and then Sunday wasn't any better because of the football festivities, I mean how can you NOT eat healthy on Suber Bowl Sunday! But alas, I am heading to the gym today after work to get in a hopefully good workout!

Not Drinking

I swear I think I'm averaging, one post a week!! How this is possible? I have no idea, I sit in front of a computer ALL DAY long, so you'd think I have time to post right? Hmmm I need to look at my time management and figure it all out, okay maybe not, but I'll try to post a little more often.

The reason I may not be posting, is my life is really boring right now! I really don't have much to say on here. I could come on here and talk about my day to day life, but that would just bore the hell out of you, so I digress! I am making plans for the month of Feb. though, I'm vowing not to drink for this long month! I know, how does one make such a admentment with the Super Bowl just this weekend, but Yes it is my plan and so far I'm going strong on day #2!!! :)
